Winter Travels in China
Its nearing the end of the year and that means school holidays and winter break! If you are still wondering where to go, why not try the following three places in China?
1. Harbin 哈尔滨
Think winter in China and “Harbin” 哈尔滨 comes up to most people’s minds. This winter wonderland is located in HeiLongJiang province, the most northeastern part of China. It is a must-visit if you are not afraid of the freezing cold as it can get as cold as -20 in December! It is most well-known for skiing and its annual Ice and Snow Festival. Sculptors from all over the world participate in the festival, making it one of the world’s biggest snow sculpture festival. Each year, millions of people head down to the festival, braving the cold to see these intricate and grand sculptures.
2. Mt. Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) 黄山
The Yellow Mountain at the Anhui Province has amazing natural scenery. It is what one would imagine to look out of an historical action movie, with its flowing clouds, gigantic rocks and pine trees. In winter, everything is covered in snow, presenting a snowscape that looks out of this world. You could hike up to the peak to enjoy the sunrise and cloud sea. There is also hot thermal springs, perfect in the cold and after the tiring hike.

3. Sanya 三亚
Sanya 三亚 in the Hainan Island is the opposite definition of winter. Made up of some of China’s best seas and beach resorts, it stays warm in winter so if you hate the cold, this is the place to be (: Sunbathing, water sports, viewing coral reef and visiting temples are some of the activities you could do.
