A Small-Group Mandarin Holiday Camp for International-School Children

Make Mandarin part of your child’s Singapore holiday experience.

Han Hai Language Studio’s 2026/2027 Mandarin Winter Camp gives international-school children a supportive and engaging environment in which to speak, listen, read and write in Mandarin. Through practical lessons, stories, games and hands-on Chinese cultural activities, children build confidence while using Mandarin in meaningful situations.

The camp is suitable for children learning Mandarin as a foreign or additional language, including complete beginners and students who already have some Mandarin experience.

What Will Children Learn?

Our Mandarin Winter Camp balances structured language learning with interactive activities. The exact vocabulary and level of difficulty will be adapted to the students in each group.

Mandarin Speaking and Listening

Children practise useful vocabulary, everyday conversations, pronunciation and listening comprehension through teacher-led activities, games and role-play.

Beginner Reading and Writing

Students learn to recognise and use age-appropriate Chinese characters, words and short sentences. Beginners will receive clear guidance, while children with previous experience will be given more challenging tasks.

Stories, Games and Creative Projects

Mandarin is reinforced through storytelling, team games, crafts and practical activities that help children understand and remember new language naturally.

Chinese Culture

Children explore elements of Chinese culture through age-appropriate stories, traditions, art, calligraphy and hands-on cultural activities.

Thoughtful Grouping by Age and Mandarin Level

Children learn best when both the language content and teaching approach suit their developmental stage. We therefore consider each child’s age, Mandarin proficiency and previous learning experience when arranging the classes.

Where enrolment allows, students will be organised into two groups:

  • Junior Group: Ages 6–9

  • Senior Group: Ages 10–14

Each group will have a maximum of six students. Final placement will be based on both age and Mandarin level so that children can participate comfortably and receive appropriate support.

If you are unsure which group is right for your child, please contact us. A short online conversation may be arranged before the camp; a formal assessment is generally not necessary for complete beginners.
